Improve Fuel Efficiency by 7%

Trailer Skirts

Skirts that hang between the front and back sets of wheels on either side of the trailer.

How they work

Trailer skirts work by directing away turbulent air created by wheel rotation and the gap under the trailer. They have the highest individual efficiency impact of an aerodynamic deviceand are the most broadly adopted globally.

International Adoption

The North American Council for Freight Efficiency reports a staggering 80% adoption of trailer skirts in the United States and Canada.

Utilised by leading carriers

Outside of Australia, trailer skirts are utilised by some of the biggest carriers in the world including Amazon Logistics, FedEx, Walmart, UPS and more. In some jurisdictions they are also required by the regulatory standards

FAQs

How much is this going to save me?

For a typical Aussie trucker doing 100,000 km per year, these will save an average of about 7% in fuel costs, that’s over $5000 PER YEAR! That means they pay for themselves in less than 3 months and then go on saving you money for years to come.1

Can I install the trailer skirts myself?

Yep. With two people, it should only take about 30 minutes.

Do I need any special tools?

Nope, standard hand tools and basic power tools are all you need!

Do these things really work?

Well obviously we’re going to say “yes” but we don’t expect you to just take our word for it, the fuel savings of trailer skirts are backed up by some of the most respected testing organizations in the world: the North American Council for Freight Efficiency (NACFE), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Society of Automotive Engineers, the National Research Council of Canada… and even NASA!

On top of that, customers have also reported better road stability and handling, spray reduction, and lower road noise in the cab.

I’ve heard people stopped using them because they got damaged during loading. How tough are these things?

That was a problem with old-fashioned, rigid, badly designed skirts. But our trailer skirts can take a beating like a champ! They use a flexible, strong plastic and special support struts that hold the skirts firm against the wind but are designed to bend when they get pushed up against solid things like forklifts, pillars and concrete barriers; allowing them to bend but never break. Instead of snapping like some of the older designs, our skirts bend and instantly spring back in to place afterwards. You can scratch them up all you want and they’ll still do their job!

Not only that but they can handle everything that the cruelest mistress of all can throw at them: the Aussie weather! Scorching desert sun and sand? Easy! Blue Mountain snow drifts? Bring it on! They’re made of a Glass-Reinforced Thermoplastic Composite, meaning they are lightweight, strong, flexible and can handle all of the extremes that the Aussie environment can throw at them.

What colours do they come in?

Our trailer skirts come in all the most trendy colours… white, black and grey basically!
